ALAN
D. DAVIS
Alan D. Davis graduated from Rutgers University in 1968
with a B.A. in history. After a six-year stint in the navy, during
which he maintained computer systems on both shore installations
and the U.S.S. Josephus Daniels, he entered Western State University
School of Law in Fullerton, California. During law school, he clerked
for the firm of Richard, Thompson & Bell of Garden Grove (and
later Santa Ana). They maintained a general practice of family law,
criminal defense, personal injury, and probate.
Graduating in 1978, he passed the bar that same year and continued
working for the firm in Santa Ana. When the firm broke up, he stayed
with partner Paul Bell in Santa Ana. Their practice was devoted
primarily to civil litigation, but also included some criminal defense
and personal injury work.
By 1980, Alan Davis was practicing on his own in Santa Ana, devoting
most of his workload to criminal defense, family law, bankruptcy,
personal injury, and probate. In addition, he began teaching at
Santa Ana College, teaching the course in probate law in the field
of paralegal studies. In 1984, he went to work for Jacoby &
Meyers in their Ontario office, practicing primarily family law
and probate law. Then, in 1992, he was asked to take over the huge
estate planning offices of Jacoby & Meyers in Costa Mesa.
By 1994, Jacoby & Meyers decided to close their doors. The
estate planning and probate practices were turned over to Alan Davis,
who by then was working out of their Anaheim office. Since that
time, he has devoted all of his time to probate and estate planning.
Presently, his office is located in Fullerton.
Alan Davis still teaches probate law at Santa Ana College, and
has even written the textbook that is used by the class.
Mr. Davis is a member in good standing with the California State
Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association (Probate and
Estate Planning Section and Family Law Section). He is married and
has two children, and maintains residences in Fullerton and Huntington
Beach.
